"Justin Turner Joins Chicago Cubs for 17th MLB Season with One-Year, $6 Million Deal"

Justin Turner Set to Join the North Siders for His 17th MLB Season

As his 17th MLB season starts Justin Turner has signed up for the Chicago Cubs. Chicago Cubs announced a one-year deal worth $6 million to sign the 40-year-old infielder Patrick Mooney told The Athletic. Among the 2024 campaigns Justin Turner played for the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays and hit .259/.354/.383 while hitting 11 home runs with 55 RBIs.

The Chicago Cubs represent Turner's seventh MLB team in his career. Turner displayed his all-star talents twice during his years playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers between the middle and late portion of the 2010s while earning three MVP votes.

As a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers team Turner became part of their World Series-winning squad in 2020 and received NLCS 2017 MVP recognition.

Turner evolved from his historical hot corner period to become a full-time designated hitter during the 2024 season. The ฺfield saw him play only 49 times.

The article suggests Turner may combine with current first baseman Michael Bush at third base so he could play a few additional games as the designated hitter.
