After three weeks of hearings, the jury deliberated for just three hours before reaching a verdict that spared Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, from a prison sentence that could have lasted over two decades.
As he exited the courtroom, Rocky turned to the jury members and said, "Thank you all for saving my life."
Amid the chaos, the clerk took a moment to read out the second not guilty verdict, although it was highly unlikely the jury would be divided on the count.
On the eve of the trial, Rocky rejected a prosecution offer of only six months in jail with probation and other conditions, had he pleaded guilty to one of the charges.
